First Impressions: A Short Film
This was my first time writing and directing a short film that I worked with the USC Asian Pacific Islander Cinema Association to bring to life. It is about a 5th generation Asian American digital artist, who is not connected to his heritage meeting his girlfriend’s immigrant Asian parents for the first time. He must learn cultural traditions and etiquette from his friends in order to impress them. But will he succeed? It was really fun and interesting to be part of the whole process in creating a film with a team. I learned a lot about collaborating with others, casting, editing/writing the script with the program directors, and working with our producers, cinematographer, and actors. It's even funnier that my parents are the parents in the short film as we ran out of time to cast.
